In 1372, trade relations were established between the Ryukyu Islands and the Fujian Province of China. Eventually, it moved several Chinese families to move to Okinawa. These Chinese families exchanged forms of Chinese Kenpo, Chinese and Indian battles. Through this, the traditional Okinawan martial arts began to change. Many families simply developed the nature of martial arts on their own.
Three common genes emerged and were named after the areas in which they were developed: Shuri, Naha T and Tomari T. The differences between these three layers were small because the cities of Shuri, Tomari, and Nah were very close to each other.
Shimazu’s armed robbery in Okinawa in the 1400s promoted not only Okinawa’s martial arts and karate but also the use of agricultural tools that did not appear to be weapons.
That is why many unusual weapons are used in karate today.
As relations with China strengthened, the traditional Okinawan martial arts became more sophisticated with the empty hands of Chinese Kenpo and Fujian White Crane, Faizin’s ancestors, and Gangru Kwan.
In addition, the influences from Southeast Asia were also somewhat understated.

It is called “Zakwa, the hand of China.” Matsumura Sokon (1809-1899), a student of Kanga, later carried the sculptural form of Shoilin. He later became known as Shorin-Ru.
Itosu Anko (1831-1915), a student of Sokon, is often referred to as “the grandfather of Karate”. Itozo is known for creating simplified cubes or models for underprivileged students. With this, he brought karate instruction to Okinawa’s school. The models he developed are still in use today.
